What is Reality? That's for you to decide.

Questions to consider:
What constitutes Reality?
Is there a constant Reality, or are we living in our own constructed realities?
What shapes our perspective of Reality?
How does technology shape Reality?
How can we remain connected to Reality?

What we are looking for:

Poetry (max 20 lines)
Essays (max 500 words)

THE LIBRARY OF BEING BOOK CLUB

Where: The Cavendish Arms, Stockwell
When: Monday 3rd February 2025, 7pm – 9pm

The Library of Being is a new book club where we will explore books through the lens of consciousness and the human experience.

In the First Edition, we will be discussing Aldous Huxley’s seminal essay The Doors of Perception, an autobiographical account of the author’s first experience with psychedelic drugs.

We are pleased that the wonderful Friend of Ordinary Rachael Griffiths will be hosting the book club, which will run regularly throughout the year.

For our non-London friends, The Library of Being is, for now, an in-person-only event, but if you want to join the conversation, we welcome you to email in any thoughts you may have.

Welcome Back 06-01-25

Today is a big day. First, we welcome our new team member, Brother Paul, a delightful soul through whom we are seizing the means of production. In short, he has been tasked with the vital role of delivering our creations from the pixelated realm into Reality.

Brother Paul

We are also welcoming you to our new website. We are free from our previously square chains. It’s simple.

If you haven't yet got a copy of our beloved The Desire Issue, you can order one here. There are only 3 copies remaining. So be quick with it.

Now, some announcements.

  1. We are hosting an event! (Or are we?)

  2. It’s not you, it’s us, we need space.

We are looking for an events space/venue in Central/South London (not “North” or “East”.) where we can host an interactive event in the next couple of months. It must be free of charge! We don’t believe in “paying” for things like that*.

*Unless it’s seriously “reasonable” and benefits a greater cause i.e. not for “profit”.

If anybody has any leads, please send us an email: hello@ordinaryzine.com

  3. Your Ordinary Needs You

  4. If it’s not already obvious we plan to have our fingers in a few more proverbial pies this year. But to make it work, we need some extra not-so-proverbial hands.

Brother Paul is great, but he’s no Atticus Finch. We’re looking to recruit some volunteers to be part of the inner Ordinary circle.

We have some roles in mind already, but we’re open to hearing from anyone who wants to be involved.

Please register your interest by sending us an email letting us know who you are, your skills and experience and how you’d like to be involved.

  5. Instagram no good

  6. We might use “instagram”, you probably came here from “instagram”, but ultimately we don’t know what “instagram” is. Sorry!

We might respond to a “DM” from you, but don’t count on it. If you want to contact us and receive a (somewhat) timely response, send us an email.

    Get in touch: hello@ordinaryzine.com

Peace & Love
and to all a good night.
